Thinking Accelerator receives Major Award

     ©Herrmann International

October 8, 2009. Herrmann International’s new program, The Thinking Accelerator™ featuring HBDIinteractive™, was awarded the silver Excellence in Content Award from Chief Learning Officer magazine. The magazine announced its Learning in Practice awards last week at the Fall 2009 Chief Learning Officer Magazine Symposium.

“The Learning In Practice awards were established to recognize transformational and visionary leaders in enterprise education,” said Norm Kamikow, president and editor in chief of Chief Learning Officer magazine. “A record number of top learning executives and solution providers were nominated by their peers this year. The winners are the industry leaders who truly champion innovation and transform it into learning and value for their organizations.”

According to Ann Herrmann-Nehdi, CEO of Herrmann International, this award highlights a growing need among organizations to deliver high-quality learning and skills to an increasingly global, dispersed and virtual workforce.

“Learning leaders face a tough challenge today,” says Herrmann-Nehdi. “Budgets are tight and very little time is available for training, but at the same time, there’s a greater need for people to take on new responsibilities, stretch their thinking and work more effectively with diverse team members. This award recognizes that you need both innovative content and new delivery mechanisms to make that happen.”

Herrmann International partnered with IBM to develop the award-winning product, an online simulation and blended learning program that helps people uncover their thinking preferences and apply Whole Brain® Thinking to improve leadership, teamwork, communication, problem solving and creativity. By incorporating the learner’s personalized Herrmann Brain Dominance Instrument® (HBDI®) assessment profile into the interactive simulation, the program gives each participant an individualized online learning experience.

The Learning In Practice Awards were announced at a special awards ceremony during the Symposium. All of the award winners will be featured in a special supplement in the December issue of Chief Learning Officer magazine. More information about the Learning In Practice Awards is available here.

The Thinking Accelerator has arrived

Herrmann International has announced the release of the Thinking Accelerator™ featuring HBDIinteractive™, a blended learning solution combining an individual's HBDI Assessment with several interactive learning modules that greatly enhance and exceed the opportunities of a normal  training classroom setting. The interactive simulation gives participants insight into their own thinking styles and those of others, allowing them to stretch their capabilities whether working alone or in team settings.

The Thinking Accelerator was developed in partnership with IBM and includes activity oriented simulations that are applied and reinforced in a series of modules. The Accelerator includes the HBDI Assessment, a 120 question thinking style quantitative assessment,  but goes well beyond the usual print explanation format and debriefing.

“We developed this solution to help clients reach global, dispersed populations faster and more cost-effectively,” says Ann Herrmann-Nehdi, CEO of Herrmann International, “and also help them get the advantage that comes from embedding Whole Brain® Thinking into all aspects of the business. By combining IBM’s expertise in developing innovative technology solutions with our methods of harnessing the power of thinking styles for real-world application, we realized we could create a blended solution that would meet or even surpass what could be achieved in the classroom alone.”

After taking the assessment, participants enter the simulation world of HBDIinteractive™. They meet other participants within the simulation, typical of those in their own work setting with different understandings and priorities and get a chance to join their new virtual colleagues in learning new skills and taking action. They also get to apply what they are learning to their own real life situations and record their responses automatically as they go.

As a certfied asssessor and trainer, Dynamic Thinking is pleased to offer both HBDI Assessments and training incorporating The Thinking Accelerator.
