How the
HBDI Will Help You

Check out the HBDI today to see how you think. Knowing more about your unique balance of
strengths will give you added understanding and confidence and make you more
effective both at work and in your personal life. It's a modest investment
of time and money that will result in significant long term rewards. It is
available as a paper based survey and can also be tried online.

You will receive a new and improved profile package including a full
explanation of your personal profile in graphic and story formats as well as
an explanation of your own answers to the survey. The profile package
contains a comprehensive series of booklets explaining every aspect of the
assessment. You will understand the model, go through it step by step,
understand the profiles of others and compare your own to them, and explore
the profile further by seeing ideas and exercises that can help you develop
in all the areas.

Your Whole Team Will
Benefit
Teams and groups as well as individuals can benefit by
understanding how they think collectively. A team profile is an excellent
tool for expanding your awareness, appreciating the strengths of others and
developing new products and services that meet all the needs of your
customers.

If You Require Training
If you would like a more comprehensive
introduction to the HBDI, we offer HBDI training
in Canada and the US.
Such sessions include a comprehensive explanation of the HBDI model, and
participatory exercises to help those present to experience how it works.
HBDI assessment in an excellent first step for groups meeting for strategic
planning or the implementation of change. It can stand alone or be combined
with VisiMapping to help participants see and understand how they think
before moving on to develop new ideas and plans.
What is
Whole Brain Thinking?
You have no doubt heard about left brain right brain, but whole brain
thinking expands on that idea. Brain research shows four structures and HBDI
assessments measure four distinct styles of thinking.
Current research shows that the human brain
is highly specialized. The research from Herrmann International shows that
there are an equal number of people in all four basic groups. The four
quadrant whole brain model allows for more sophisticated combinations that
measure both intellectual and emotional preferences which influence thinking
styles and learning styles.
The HBDI draws on brain physiology research of Nobel
prize-winning scientists like Roger Sperry and Michael Gazzaniga. It was
developed by the late Ned Herrmann at General Electric using advanced brain
scanning technology. The HBDI model has been validated by more than 60
doctoral theses and scientific study, and by the satisfaction of more than
300,000 participants.

How Can the HBDI
be Used?
These are things you can improve with personal
use
 | Through the research and experimentation
of leaders in the field including Roger Sperry, Robert Ornstein, Henry
Mintzberg, and Michael Gazzaniga. |
 | By the hundreds of EEG experiments carried
out personally by Ned Herrmann. |
 | By the public demonstrations conducted by
Ned Herrmann over the past 15 years. |
 | By specific validation studies carried out
by C. Victor Bunderson and James Olsen of Wicat and later by C. Victor
Bunderson and Kevin Ho, and in parallel with those studies by validation
experiments carried out by Schadty and Potvin at the University of Texas. |
 | More than 60 doctoral dissertations based
on both the HBDI and the whole brain concept. |
 | Thousands of anecdotal validations coming
from people who have acknowledged verbally or in writing their strong
personal acceptance of the HBDI profile as descriptive of themselves and
their extremely positive feedback about the understanding both the profile
and the concept has provided in terms of understanding others in their
personal and work lives. |
